Before the session you did this, by your own count, now and then. Since the session you have caught it nine times before lunch. It seems to be everywhere, and you feel worse than you did. How many times do I have to go through this?
There is more than one possible reason, and one of them is that things really are harder right now.
01
Three possibilities
You may be seeing more, and not doing more. Something that ran unnoticed now gets noticed each time. The count goes up because the counting started.
You may be going against a fear. If you have begun to do something differently, the fear under the old way may speak up. Under Peace, the fear is that someone's disappointment means you did something wrong, and a first no can feel worse than all the yeses did. Under Ahead, the fear is that if you stop managing, something goes wrong again, and the first thing left unmanaged can make for a long afternoon.
Or it may be an ordinary hard stretch. A bad month at work can make everything louder, and that needs no further explanation.
02
What to do
Count catches and not incidents. Nine catches is nine times you saw it.
Don't add steps. The pull, when it seems louder, is to work harder at it. Your three steps were meant to be doable in a week.
If you are running an experiment against the fear, make it smaller before you make it braver.
03
When louder is a warning
Seeming louder and getting worse are different things. If you are finding it hard to get through the day, or the people close to you are worried, that is not a stage of anything. Licensed mental-health care is the right door.If tonight is an emergency, call or text 988 (US). This library is not that door.
If you are working with a practitioner, this is a fair thing to bring to them.
If what you are catching no longer fits what was named, note that. Subtraction treats it as evidence, and there may not have been enough to tell the first time.
